PeopleCert is looking for a Business Development Manager with extensive experience in developing a strong pipeline and delivering new business in their territory.

Through an in-depth understanding of PeopleCert business and go-to-market strategy, you establish relationships with decision makers of training organisations, language education related influencers, language schools, language universities, local communities and corporations in your territory.

The successful candidate will be responsible for Business amp; IT portfolio.


As a Business Development Manager, your tasks will include the following:

  • Maintain and achieve maximum B2B market penetration of LanguageCert products, implementing a target-driven sales strategy.
  • Liaise with partners predominantly to employers, higher educational institutions, immigration advisers/solicitors and other clients in education-and related markets to promote LanguageCert services.
  • Work with the universities to increases their 1) awareness of LanguageCert exams, 2) utilization of LanguageCert exams in curriculum and research, and 3) view of LanguageCert as a leading and preferred partner in the future of education.
  • Organize appropriate marketing activities, especially digital marketing activities to satisfy local needs and identify new potential partners.
  • Run campaigns to obtain recognition and testimonials from universities and organizations.
  • Deal with customer enquiries and aim to meet their expectations.
    • A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
    • Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity and place of residence)
    • HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)
    • Financial background check
    • Employment reference check.
    • If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK.
  • Implement alternative and innovative ideas for achieving business target.
  • Coordinate various aspects of activity in tandem with the company's operations base and with respect to the local market conditions and culture
  • Plan and organise personal sales strategy by maximising the Return on Time Investment for the territory/segment.
  • Monitor own progress against daily/weekly/monthly targets and report accordingly to the Headquarters.
  • Facilitate and expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints, working closely with support teams.


What we look for:

  • Bachelor's or relevant degree required.
  • Based in South China
  • 5 years' experience in driving business development, with proven track record in driving successful business development transactions Consulting or Examination / Certification sectors in previous role(s) as well as prior experience in international corporate environments
  • Experience in working especially with educational cooperation programs.
  • Experience in digital marketing content planning and social media operations
  • Sound understanding of channel development, strategy selling principles, partnership strategy and consultative selling
  • Superb relationship, communication, and negotiation skills in working with executives, external constituents, and other business functions at all levels of seniority in a versatile and mixed-cultural environment
  • Excellent command of the English language (native or C1 level certification desired, C1 IESOL certificate would be a plus)
  • Competence in MS Office, including Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics CRM or similar
