The Opportunity:
We are looking for an Analyst, with focus on developing market analysis on Refinery Capacities, Margins, Refinery Intelligence, Product Balances and analyzing refinery modeling related data/questions with a focus on China.
The Downstream Solution team is responsible for Rystad Energy’s research and analyses of the global Downstream industry covering all its segments. As our new colleague, you will report to Head of Downstream Asset Research and will be key member of Rystad Energy’s Global Downstream Solution team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform research/benchmarking at asset level related to capacities, outages, utilization, crude diet, product mix, corporate data
- Key areas also include research on crude assays, fuel specifications, bio refineries, refinery projects, refining margins, refining company level intelligence, refinery infrastructure, refinery emissions, Bio feedstocks and fuels, crude, and products pricing etc.
- Develop modelling tools for filling the gaps in historical data and forecasting for short- and long-term outlook
- Ability to use/build dashboards, develop reports and presentations for publication and client engagements
- Contribute in consulting activities related to Downstream
- Contribute in key energy themes related to Energy Transition and Decarbonization.
Requirements / Skills:
- 3 to 5 years in the Asia-Pacific Oil/Petroleum Refining operating or research consulting or trading firms
- Hands on with Excel, Python, Visualization tools (QlikView, Power BI)
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or Chemical engineering
- Expertise in Refining/Petrochemical processes and economics
- Desirable to have experience in linear programming tools such as Aspen PIMS
- Good command of spoken and written English and able to demonstrate good writing skills.
- Occasional travels for client visits and industry events
