Control Risks is looking for a competent and enthusiastic security and resilience professional to join our expanding crisis and security practice in Shanghai. The role will involve working on or project manage resilience-led and recovery-led projects across the Greater China and North Asia, providing support to Control Risks clients in identifying, evaluating and mitigating security risks. The role will support and contribute to the regional projects in APAC.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated interest and a keen understanding of the region’s operational environment.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Project manage a multidisciplinary team of investigators, political risk analysts, security experts and crisis management specialists, in resolving clients’ complex problems, responding to crisis issues and developing proactive risk management programs.
- Support development and delivery of crisis and business continuity plans and training across the region
- Carry out security risk assessments and develop risk mitigation strategies and plans
- Provide technical or logistical support to cross-functional teams engaged in solving complex client problems
- Support development and delivery of communications plan and communications strategy in GCNA region.
- Coordinate and logistically manage CSC deployed subcontracted resources across GCNA region
- Support the regional projects in APAC
- Participate and lead in client meetings and training
- Prepare reports and develop proposals
Requirements
Knowledge and experience
Essential:
- Minimum 5 years as a resilience or crisis communications professional or related field
- Project management experience
- Preparation of detailed reports for clients with presentation of findings
- Experience in preparing written proposals and presenting
- Excellent presentation skills at all levels in client organisations, from the boardroom to the work floor
- Demonstrated experience in the application of a recognised risk assessment methodology
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Ability to travel regionally, sometimes with little advance notice
Preferred:
- Track record of successful consulting assignments in the region
- Experience in a corporate/consulting environment working with multinational companies in GCNA
- Experience in risk assessment following recognised international standards, security planning and/or framework development
- Basic knowledge of information/cyber security
- Knowledge of commercial/operational environment across GCNA
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams
Qualifications and specialist skills
- University degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Additional language skill (advantageous)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Relevant security industry qualifications
