Job Description
Based in Shanghai or remote, the position will be supporting the Business Operation team in translating official business documents from Simplified Chinese to English on a project basis to raise awareness of policies, products, and workflows.
1. Work closely with the Business Operation team to translate and deliver official business documents including but not limited to SOPs, training handbooks, manuals, etc. from Simplified Chinese to English. (This is a 6-month project of about 360,000 words.)
2. Meet deadlines on time, while performing high-quality translations, as well as reviewing/proofreading translated documents.
3. Willingness to receive feedback and to justify and solve doubts regarding their translation choices if needed. Strong teamwork abilities are required.
Requirements
Skills and Competencies:
1. Strong command of English and Chinese, native English speaker is preferred.
2. Be able to deliver high-quality translations in a fast-paced environment.
3. Proactively create and update glossaries in the fields of automation, robotics, software, business operation, finance, etc. in order to maintain a continuity in translations.
4. Experience with Microsoft Office suite or Feishu/Lark.
5. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to teamwork and collaboration.
Experience and Education:
1. A bachelor's degree or master's degree in Translation or related field or equivalent work experience is preferred.
2. Translation Certification (i.e. CATTI) is strongly preferred but not required.
3. Experience in translating documents in the field of automation and robotics is a plus.
