Reporting into the global Head of Packaging Development, the Senior Packaging Development Manager APAC will be responsible for APAC specific packaging and artwork projects and ensure those are delivered within spec, time and budget. By working closely with global Packaging, NPD, Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain and Procurement teams, you will manage the packaging development of the China domestic variant by supporting the finished goods development and production from a packaging development side. You need to have an excellent understanding to be able to provide technical, creative, operational and commercial solutions.
In addition, you will actively lead, manage and support the implementation and execution of larger distribution projects into new markets and territories in the APAC region, as well as project manage the creation of all new artworks for these exciting projects. You will work closely with global and APAC based Supply Chain, Procurement, Regulatory and Commercial teams to develop long terms strategies when it comes to finished goods and artwork variants, taking into account costs, minimum order quantities and other limitations.
The Senior Packaging Development Manager will come from a packaging development background with an extensive supply chain and procurement understanding and have a passion for working for complex and fast-paced environments. By working collaboratively with the global Packaging Development team based in the UK, you will be juggling multiple packaging development projects at the same time, with a collaborative, organised, can-do attitude. This is an excellent opportunity to shape and support the brand’s growth in the APAC region.
Key responsibilities:
- Pre-production sample and quality rangeboard development of skincare and makeup primary, secondary, label and sampling packaging
- Manage artwork creation and approval process by working with internal and external graphic designers and internal Regulatory, Production and Marketing teams
- Responsible for managing all China domestic packaging CPAs and aligning them to the global and China domestic NPD project CPAs
- Help accelerating productions and launches by identifying and suggesting creative solutions
- Initiate SKU code creation and PO placement for new packaging developments and work with Supply Chain, Procurement and key packaging suppliers on long term beneficial trading and procurement terms
- Lead and project manage ad-hoc artwork projects related to new distribution channels, by working closely with Supply Chain, Regulatory amp; Graphic Design
- Manage and maintain the tooling budget and POs for the APAC region
- Source, build amp; maintain strong relationships with external pack suppliers and contract manufacturers

- Highly organized and enjoy working on multiple complex projects at the same time
- Excellent understanding of complex NPD project management and an extensive 360 understanding
- 5+ years experience amp; knowledge in printing technology and packaging materials within the FMCG industry
- Ability to lead and work cross-functionally with NPD, Design, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Procurement amp; Marketing on various NPD and ad-hoc projects
- Provide commercial amp; operational value to projects, as well as balancing creative thinking, innovation, quality, costs amp; timings
- Continuously looking to improve processes to optimize the project cycle
