Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Business development and client relationship management for the Company Group
  • Oversight and local support of our new-build projects in China.
  • Assist with technical services like ship inspections, ship audits, and any other technical service.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ship inspections for the ISM, ISPS, and MLC Code requirements.
  • Attending on-site Docking Superintendent
  • Attending meetings, attendance at key milestone events like keel laying, launching and ship naming ceremonies, FATs, commissioning, dock, and sea trials and delivery of vessels.
  • Assist when there are issues on site for work quality disputes, or when deviation from design decision is needed.
  • To cover the periods if/when the on-site project manager is unavailable for an extended period of time.

Competencies

a. Familiar with NB Project contractual requirements.

b. Familiar with shipbuilding specification including referenced Standards, Regulations, and Classification Rules.

c. Experienced with plan approvals and ability to read and comprehend ship drawings. Experience to offer constructive feedback is a bonus.

d. Experienced with New build workflow and must be able to conduct functional safety audits of shipyards and manufacturers’ facilities; and be able to offer constructive feedback where safety improvements can or should be made.

e. Experienced with ship condition inspections/surveys and audits; and have a keen awareness to report on operational aspects and performance onboard.

f. Experience with ship docking management including budget controls.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Naval Architecture OR
  • Certificate of Competency Class 1/ 2 Marine Engineer
  • Must have good understanding and experience with business development and client relationship management
  • Possess proficiency in spoken and written English and report writing
  • Be self-motivated to keep abreast with future industry regulations and identify potential business opportunities for Company Group
  • Preferable: At least 10 years of practical work experience in the maritime industry, ideally as a Senior Classification Surveyor with prior sailing experience. Experience in ship management would be an advantage.
  • Desirable: Experience in specialized Offshore support vessels/windfarm vessels / Subsea (Cable Layer) vessels / various types of Tankers. will be advangtageous
