The opportunity:

We are seeking an ambitious, creative and yet meticulous Product Development Manager. You will be responsible for analysing the market and developing briefs which cater to gaps, opportunities and niches which you identify.

Your focus will be on driving high revenue growth monthly, and gaining space within new categories from which the company can grow its presence. You will be working closely with our sourcing, quality and operations teams to ensure that products are developed to high standards at pace, and will pride yourself on ensuring that all stakeholders are engaged and motivated by the final results.

Your brilliant communication paired with awesome negotiation have established new best in class suppliers which result in great quality products for consumers.

  • You have identified opportunities for Patent licensing, and have protected high revenue products you have delivered from competing brands.

What you'll do

Market Analytics

  • With the support of a team, analyse the market and recommend products which provide biggest revenue opportunities, and future growth opportunities.
  • Spot emerging trends and optimise for Amazon marketplace selling.
  • Identify missed potential in the competition and areas where we can provide additional value for our customers.

Creative brief

  • Instruct sourcing team with clear and creative product briefs which problem solve.

Price Negotiation

  • Set target pricing and project sales for negotiation. Build mid-long term strategies with factories in order to gain best results in terms and costs. Forecast sales and assess market for seasonality to optimise initial buys and shipment plans.

Develop

  • Review samples and develop products in collaboration with factory, QC, ops and sourcing, keeping commerciality and launch timing front of mind in all decisions.
  • Testing and quality due diligence for each product development to be managed in collaboration with the relevant QM.

Brand amp; Marketing

  • Source consumer segmentation data in order to build creative briefs for each new launch.
  • In collaboration with the creative teams develop suitable branding strategies and packaging for each product.

Range Management

  • Successfully launch products and review sales, instructing range extensions, 2.0 iterations and category opportunities for future development.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Product Developer/Buyer role in relevant categories
  • FMCG/CPG
  • Multi- Category experience essential
  • Developing products for eCommerce (Amazon, eBay) retail is desirable.
  • Ability to clearly communicate and present vision and ideas.
  • Technical knowledge of manufacturing product construction.
  • Creates an environment that encourages creative thinking.
  • Fluent working knowledge of illustrator, photoshop and creative suite packages.
