Job Description
We are expanding our Quality team in support of our mission; to be the customers choice! We are looking for a Certification Engineer to join our team, to ensure all products meet all mandatory certifications throughout their life cycle. Mandatory certifications are defined as those required by market regulatory bodies, by downstream channels or wholesalers and as defined internally by the company.
You will complete new testing and certifications to planned timescales during the new product development and production launch phases. Part of this process is firstly identifying relevant standards for the new product categories.

- All certification activities are fully owned by the Certification Engineer regardless of the NPD project owner within the group.
- Achieved all set goals and KPIs, including:
- 100% of launched and actively selling products have valid certifications.
- Zero occurrences of certification exceptions, including rejected 3rd party submissions, detained cargo, regulatory warnings or licensing violations.
- Zero delays in certification plans due to internal process failures.
- All newly developed products have certification requirements defined within 14 days of request.
- The certification proposals for all new products capture 100% of legal requirements in the destination market.
- They have established excellent working relationships with 3rd party service providers such that no obstacles to progress are experienced.
- The certification information for all products is accurately defined in the company system without being outdated or missing.
What you'll do:
- Through independent research and 3rd party collaboration, identifying mandatory and recommended certifications for all new consumer product opportunities, including the related costs and timescales.
- Collaborating with sourcing, product development and quality partners to understand new products and suppliers then establish appropriate certification programmes for each case.
- Managing certification projects end to end, ensuring sufficient completion prior to delivery of product and avoiding delays to the overall timeline.
- Coordinating new certifications with 3rd party laboratories, including product data and sample provision.
- Reviewing supplier test reports and certificates for relevance and validity.
- Leading suppliers to complete their certification obligations to the agreed timescales and requirements, training and guiding them where necessary.
- Work with external regulatory bodies to resolve problems and coordinate actions.
- Working with the testing and QA team, review how well product samples meet international standards to define a best course of action together.
Requirements
- University degree with a technical-related major
- High level of consumer goods production-related experience and technical knowledge
- Excellent stakeholder management, and the ability to communicate effectively with suppliers to resolve discrepancies, advocate consumer feedback on product quality.
- Drive, passion and dedication is key for success in this position.
- Analytical - able to use data to extract relevant information and identify and resolve issues logically.
