Key Responsibilities
- Accurately interpret medical conversations, including diagnoses, symptoms, treatments, and procedures, between patients and healthcare professionals.
- Assist patients in understanding healthcare processes and help providers navigate cultural nuances that may impact patient care.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with professional medical interpretation ethics and standards.
- Record interpretation details such as date, time, duration, and type of service provided.
- Stay up to date with medical terminology, healthcare practices, and interpretation standards.
What we’re looking for
- Fluency in English and Cantonese
- Previous experience in medical interpretation or translation preferred
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare environments
- Excellent communication skills and cultural sensitivity
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in real-time medical settings
