We are looking for aForeign Deputy Principal for an international school located in Shanghai. This is a full-time position starting ASAP.
Job summary
The mission of the Foreign School Principal is to prepare Chinese students to attend prestigious international universities, such as those in the UK and US. The Foreign Principal will be employed at a boarding school for students from kindergarten to grade 12 located in Shanghai. Their role will involve collaborating with Chinese principals to oversee academic matters.
Principal responsibilities
- Administration of teaching affairs related to the international courses for high school sector
- Co- work on curriculum development
- Development of fusion courses, including British/American culture and contemporary approaches to learning
- Designing and Overseeing teacher’s PD programmes
- Coordinating school’s international affairs, ie. student exchange, foreign expert visit, transnational academic cooperation
- Work together with colleagues in the United Kingdom and United States
Teachingresponsibilities
- Providing 60 teaching periods a month
Requirements
- Familiarity with the UK/USA education system, IGCSE and A-level, IB, AP curriculum
- Experience of senior administration within US/UK schools (at least 10 years)
- Principal/head teacher experience at one or multiple well-established US/UK schools is highly desired
- Knowledge of the Chinese education system (desirable)
- Working experience in China (desirable)
