THE ROLE:

Athletic Greens is growing tremendously and as a result we seek a self-motivated, detail-oriented, ambitious Accounting Assistant to join our China Finance team. This role will report to the Finance Manager and will be working in a fast-paced environment that offers an opportunity to manage and oversee all aspects of accounting and tax-related activities within the organization. This role requires strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and the ability to analyze financial data accurately. The ideal candidate is someone who is a strong team player, analytical, detail-oriented and excited to work in a high-growth, dynamic environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Execute the month end close process for various balance sheet and income statement accounts you own across subsidiaries, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations, and ensuring all activity is properly recorded and reflected in the financial statements.
  • Assist in recording monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets depreciation, and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries.
  • Manage and oversee the organization's tax planning and compliance activities.
  • Prepare and file tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax.
  • Conduct tax research to stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
  • Assist with financial audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper recording and classification of financial transactions.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Assist the accounts payable procure-to-pay function including timely processing of vendor invoices.
  • Assist in managing merchant accounts receivable, including application of cash payments and reconciliation of merchant processing fees.
  • Assist in managing cash related activities including application of cash receipts, corresponding journal entries, cash reconciliations, and detailed cash tracking.
  • Manage the expense report reimbursement process, timely processing of expense reimbursements and ensuring expense reimbursements are recorded in the general ledger with correct account and departmental coding.
  • Assist the Finance team with various tasks or projects in other areas such as potentially within payroll processing or sales tax filing and reconciliations.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related fields with 2-3 years of professional accounting experience preferably from big 4.
  • CPA certification is not a must but will be strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Microsoft Excel, familiarity with Finance ERP tools, such as Oracle or Kingdee.
  • Self-starter/self-motivated/ownership mentality. Has the ability to work in a hands-on environment and work well independently.
  • Punctual and reliable with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and meet multiple deadlines while delivering quality work with attention to detail.
  • Be able to work with a truly global team that spans across countries and continents.
  • Self-motivated learner with an open mindset and continuously improve.
