As the China Market General Manager, you will be responsible for leading and executing our business strategy in China, with a specific focus on the vitamins and nutritional supplements market. You will play a pivotal role in establishing and growing our brand presence, developing effective marketing campaigns, managing e-commerce operations, and driving overall business performance. This is a senior leadership position that requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, strong consumer brand marketing expertise, exceptional knowledge of the dietary supplements industry in China, strong commercial sense and logic, data driven, and a deep understanding of the ecommerce landscape of the Chinese consumer market.

Responsibilities:

  • Build our new venture from scratch with an entrepreneurial mindset, from hiring, setting up operations, maintaining regulatory compliance, overseeing logistics and fulfillment, achieving key commercial milestones and business objectives.
  • Develop and implement the overall business strategy for the Chinese market, with a specific focus on the vitamins and nutritional supplements sector, aligning it with the company's objectives and ensuring its successful execution.
  • Hire, lead and inspire a team of professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a culture of high performance and collaboration.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including strategic partners, distributors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities in the Chinese market.
  • Drive brand awareness and visibility in the Chinese market through innovative marketing campaigns, leveraging various channels and platforms to promote our vitamins and nutritional supplements.
  • Drive exceptional PR and media campaigns, leveraging key partnerships within the market as part of a holistic marketing strategy.
  • Build an exceptional digital customer and brand experience for the Chinese consumer and market.
  • Develop and execute consumer-focused marketing strategies to enhance brand positioning, increase customer engagement, and drive profitable growth for our vitamin products.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of e-commerce operations, including online marketplace management, digital marketing, and customer acquisition and retention strategies for our vitamin products.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify consumer trends, competitor activities, and potential business opportunities in the vitamins and nutritional supplements market in China, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, such as product development, supply chain, and sales, to ensure the successful launch and promotion of new vitamin products in the Chinese market.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess business performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics in the Chinese market, specifically related to the vitamins and nutritional supplements industry, and proactively adapt strategies to maintain a competitive edge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience of at least 10 years in a similar senior management role within the vitamins and nutritional supplements industry in China.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Chinese market, consumer behavior, and cultural nuances, specifically in relation to the vitamins and nutritional supplements industry.
  • Extensive experience in e-commerce, including online marketplace management, digital marketing, and customer acquisition strategies.
