Lead Software Engineer, Continuous Reconciliation (Pan-China)

Job Description
We’re seeking an experienced full-stack software engineer to lead our Continuous Reconciliation team that is managing Reconciliation Center (a Ruby on Rails and React application). This team is also responsible for automatic and manual financial document reconciliation processes that are governed by a set of Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence algorithms. This is a hybrid role where a successful candidate will need to combine hands-on full-stack development skills with the ability and experience of leading a cross-functional Agile team.
Role and responsibilities
- Work with the product manager to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
- Conduct Agile ceremonies with the cross-functional team (daily standup, sprint planning, sprint retrospective)
- Be at the forefront of triaging and investigating issues reported by our customers
- Write technical design documents with scalable, efficient, and maintainable software architecture
- Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and consistency
- Work hands-on on some of the most challenging projects in the sprint (50% of the time)
- Conduct regular one on ones with the engineers in the team and grow them professionally

Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- 6+ years of experience developing full-stack Web applications
- 2+ years of experience leading software teams in an Agile environment
- Strong understanding of web application architecture, API design, REST endpoints
- Strong system design and database modeling skills
- Ruby and Ruby on Rails proficiency is preferred but can be replaced with proficiency in another dynamic language (Python)
- React proficiency is preferred but can be replaced with proficiency in another modern framework (AngularJS, VueJS)
- Must be ok with working partial hours in U.S. time zones (CST primarily)
Bonus points for
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience developing microservices
- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Experience with containerization and container orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
